BMX Racing is an action packed cycling sport for all ages and abilities.

Riders set off from the top of a large start ramp and race around a 300-400m course of different jumps and banked corners. It is full speed bike racing from start to finish.

Learning to ride around a BMX track can be easier than you might think. Coaching sessions can be found in Go-Ride accredited BMX Clubs, and this environment is a great place to learn, progress and excel in the sport.

Go-Ride Racing

A great way for under 16’s to begin BMX racing is by taking part in a Go-Ride Race which is strictly for beginners and novices. You can find out more information about Go-Ride at the British Cycling website.

After taking part at entry level, riders can progress to Club, Regional and National standard races in the UK once they are ready. These events are open to a range of ages from under 6’s through to Veteran.

Talented riders could progress into British Cycling’s World Class performance programmes, with the ultimate aim of becoming World and Olympic champions.
