Ride The Track
Registration
In order to use the track you need to register as a member of the National Cycling Centre. Registration is free and simply requires you to fill out and return a completed registration / consent form.
Once you are a member you will be able to book in advance for sessions to guarantee a place. To register before your visit, please send a fully completed form to:

Available Sessions
Please see our timetable for session times. All BMX track activities finish 10 minutes before the hour, to allow staff to clear the venue before the following session begins.
BMX Starter
For riders aged 5 and upwards, this session introduces riders to the track in stages. During these sessions the start hill will not always be in use. There will be a coach on hand to offer advice, and when riders are ready the coaches will award accreditations. These sessions are ideal for new riders.

BMX Strider Session
For riders aged 2 to 5 years, this session is a no-pedal balance bike session. It's a great way to introduce children to both cycling and BMX in a fun and exciting environment. There will coaches on hand to offer advice. These sessions are ideal for new riders.

Accelerated Inductions
These sessions are for existing BMX racers and adults with the goal of fast tracking them into being accredited riders. It is not advised to take part in this session unless you are a confident bike rider.

Holiday Coaching
Two hours of structured coaching for under 16’s delivered by a qualified coach. Sessions will be designed to develop riders BMX Techniques. The goal of the session is to encourage riders into racing as well as to develop them as a racer. Riders must be competent bike riders to take part in the sessions and some BMX Track experience in advised.

Velopark BMX:Youth Club
The start of the resident BMX Club at the National Cycling Centre. This is for young people to develop as riders and racers whilst enjoying high quality coaching. Parents and guardians are encouraged to stay and watch, and if you would like to become involved as a volunteer do let us know to help us grow the club!

Accredited Open and Gate
For competent accredited riders aged 5 and up. This session uses the full community track including the 5m start hill. Riders must have passed their accreditation to take part in this session without exception. Please be aware that the gate will close 10minutes before the 2nd hour to allow staff to clear the venue before the next session.

Club Bookings/Events/Private Bookings
This will give equal opportunities to BMX Clubs from around the UK. Appointed officials in each club will be required to attend a facility induction to ensure they can safely manage a club session within the BMX Centre. These sessions are for groups who wish to have sole use of the track of the track and I the ideal session for riders already involved in a racing and a BMX Club.

Race Night
Various levels of BMX Racing run on Wednesday evening. Price dependant on format.
World Class BMX
Training time for Elite and Junior Elite, and Talent Development.
