LEARN TO RIDE

WHY NOT LEARN TO RIDE A BIKE?

Tuesdays 5pm - 5:30pm         AGE 5 - 12

These sessions are designed to develop young riders into confident, capable riders who will have the basic skills necessary to prepare them for riding in traffic free environments that are non technical in nature. What does that mean? In essence your child will be able to ride their bike on a flat surface such as tarmac paths, converted old railway lines and other similar areas, with confidence in their bike handling ability. Riders will be able to get on, set off, and get off their bikes safely, brake effectively, corner, ride with other riders without feeling nervous and where appropriate use their gears. Together these bike handling skills and techniques will be the foundation stones for your child to build on, as they will be able to handle their bike and put your mind at rest that they are safe when out riding. The programme is designed to inspire young riders, to get them to want to ride their bike and love being outdoors.

We can provide bikes to riders aged 8+ but those younger will need to supply their own bikes.Bikes must not have stabilisers on them.Helmets can be provided. Participants are advised to bring a light jacket as the session will always aim to run outside.
